Head Of Business Finance (Airport Project)

Role Purpose
This is a senior commercial finance leadership role responsible for driving the financial analysis, structuring, and negotiation support that underpins Masterise's major infrastructure and business development initiatives, starting with the Gia Binh International Airport. The role bridges strategy and execution: translating complex commercial arrangements into financially rigorous frameworks, advising leadership on deal economics, and ensuring the group's financial interests are protected across multi-year, multi-party engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Transaction Finance
• Lead financial structuring, analysis and commercial negotiations for major contracts, concession agreements, and operatoring partners fee frameworks
• Build and maintain integrated financial models (scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, 10-year cash flow projections) that support negotiation positions and decision-making
• Evaluate counterparty proposals on a like-for-like basis, identifying hidden costs, asymmetric risk allocations, and misalignments between headline fees and net economic impact
Negotiation & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the financial lead in negotiations with international operators, consultants, and strategic partners, able to engage credibly with sophisticated counterparties
• Prepare board papers, negotiation briefs, and scenario-based recommendation reports that enable leadership to make informed decisions quickly
• Coordinate across internal teams (legal, operations, project management) to ensure commercial positions are consistent and defensible
Performance Framework & Oversight
• Design and oversee KPI scorecards that tie operator compensation to measurable outcomes, including the calibration challenge inherent in greenfield/ramp-up environments with no operational baseline
• Establish and monitor financial reporting standards for contracted operators, including variance analysis against budget, exogenous event adjustments, and recalibration protocols
• Track contract economics over the life of multi-year agreements, flagging deviation from assumptions and recommending corrective actions
Business Development Finance
• Extend the same analytical rigor to other group business lines, e.g. providing the financial backbone for new ventures, partnerships, and investment decisions
• Develop standardized frameworks for evaluating fee structures, concession economics, and performance-linked contracts across different asset classes
