Scope of work:

As Head of Teaching you lead the Centre Heads of Teaching to achieve student, center, and company goals. You positively impact teacher team attitude, performance and behaviors. This includes ensuring the educational quality of classes and the professional success of your team. The Head of Teaching ensures the activities are led with a strong balance of education, customer service and student engagement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Content management and student engagement

Analyze student segments and review their respective needs and interests
Define topics / categories of classes, workshops, events or activities that would fulfill the students' interests given that the relevant content is delivered
In collaboration with the teaching team and coaching team management, develop a portfolio of classes, workshops, events or activities that will address the students' interests, for each segment
Engage with teachers to understand their interests and strengths and identify matches with the different classes, workshops, events or activities to be delivered
In order to provide a premium learning experience to our students and support our teachers, build or source quality content when a gap is identified in our offering to the students
For each center, analyze the student population by segments and interests, on a monthly basis
In collaboration with the teaching team and coaching team management, plan monthly social calendars in line with the students' interests in order to drive their engagement while also opening some events for prospects of every segments
Manage and monitor the monthly budget for center events

2. Teachers Capacity Planning, Recruitment, Training and Retention

Monitor and anticipate the teachers needs for each centers in collaboration with the respective Center Heads of Teaching and in line with WSE best practices
Participate to the onboarding process of new teachers in collaboration with the HR department
Identify, validate and deploy initiatives to improve Teachers satisfaction and retention in a cost effective manner
Profile the teachers and ensure that the skills are well distributed across the centers
Stay connected with the WSE International team to be aware and informed of the best practices within the WSE ecosystem

3. Monitor and manage Teachers function performance

Define Teachers KPIs and develop reporting structure
Monitor KPIs across all centers, identify issues and root causes
Build processes and draft policies to ensure the Teaching performance sustainability
Design and deploy initiatives to continuously improve the Teachers function performance
When needed, support the Centre Heads of Teaching to manage the Teachers underperformance or behavioral issues in line with the School policies and country labor laws
Ensure that Teachers across the centers support the commercial efforts of the School
Enforce dress code and English-only environment within the centers

4. Ensure service continuity

Support teaching in different centers if needed
Be prepared to support centres by teaching classes in emergency cases

Requirements:

Native English speaker
Passport holder from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK or USA
University Degree (education or business highly desirable)
120-hour classroom-based teaching certification with 6 hours of observed teaching (e.g. CELTA or Trinity TESOL.)

3+ years of ESL teaching experience preferred
