Description
1. Professional activities:
• Plan and prepare lessons on a weekly basis and in accordance with the relevant pacing guide, that correspond to CCSS.
• Deliver engaging lessons that support students below grade level while also pushing students at and above grade level.
• Through continual assessment, adjust teaching to best facilitate student's academic success.
• Cover lessons as needed when another Teacher is absent as assigned by direct supervisor/Head of Teachers/IP Operation Team.
• Work with individual Student or small groups of students to reinforce concepts and skills covered in class during allocated tutoring times.
• Ensure a safe and productive learning environment for all students.
• Assist in the development of the school's syllabus and learning materials as required.
• Observe, evaluate, and give feedback on a colleague within the same grade, below grade level, and above grade level as directed by supervisor.
• Attend grade/subject meetings once a week as scheduled by direct supervisor.
• Coordinate lesson delivery and share best practices with colleagues teaching the same grade and subject.
• Set relevant homework for each subject in accordance with the IP's policy.
• Set up and class management system, teaching models as well as outline teacher expectations for the students on the alignments with the counterparts such as TA, Homeroom teacher, other subject teachers of the class.
• Submit weekly student planners that outline the focus of each lesson taught in the coming week (including topics, projects, vocabulary, homework, etc.).
• Submit to CCs and TAs weekly lesson materials (ppt) that outline the lesson steps and activities conducted in the classroom including lesson contents, games, activities, book pages, online account, e-book, worksheets, etc.).
• On a weekly basis, write the reflections with the Teacher's name starting in the pacing guides of the subjects and grades taught.
2. Operational and Administrative Duties:
• Carry out required disciplinary procedures as outlined by the Faculty Handbook and assigned by the Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Teachers/ General Manager/ HOD.
• In accordance with the School's directions, HR policies and Department Processes, conduct and implement the ones issued.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of events held by the Department in accordance with the organized annual event.
• Adhere to all regulations, policies and other assignments as dictated by the Board of Directors.
• Mark student work and update class gradebooks, adhering to the time frame laid out by your direct supervisor and/or Faculty Handbook.
• Participate in the annual performance review process as conducted by your direct supervisor.
• Attend a monthly meeting with all teachers and TAs of each class you teach to discuss student concerns, progress, etc. and maintain the Communication Log updated.
• Participate in the planning, production, and coordination of all IP events and activities held by the Department.
• Stay abreast of all Parents/Teacher communication regarding Students of concerns, ensuring appropriate frequency of and conduct in communications are being met.
• Prepare for and participate in Parents-Teacher meetings once a semester.
• Write comments on each Student's behavior and learning (strengths, achievements, weaknesses, areas for growth) twice a semester.
• Respond to Parents' emails within forty-eight hours with both an English and Vietnamese translation.
• Schedule and attend Parents meetings as requested by Parents or when a determined need arises.
• Contribute to School's databases such as (Parent communication log, pacing guides, curriculum tracking, etc.).
• Complete all paperwork required for leave requests, work permits, disciplinary measures, etc. according to timelines laid out by School's policies.
• Communicate issues that arise for individual Students or classes with your direct supervisor.
3. Department development:
• Provide initiatives regarding academic and extracurricular activities and projects relating to operations to develop the Department.
• Participate in evaluations of new textbooks and other teaching materials, proposing their adoption when identified as an improvement towards the School's objectives and curriculum.
• In conjunction with your direct supervisor, identify areas of professional development and aid in mapping out PD plan and other avenues for Teacher growth.
• Attend professional development workshops as directed by supervisor.
4. Other contributions to Wellspring Saigon community:
• Participate in the lesson planning and teaching roles of Summer Program.
• Participate in School's events related to Marketing and Admissions and other academic departments with the flexibility of working hours in accordance with the employee contract.
• Participate in the School Curriculum Development Project as assigned by HOD.
• Participate in School theme activities and Happy School direction activities.
• Perform other tasks and responsibilities as might be reasonably assigned by the Curriculum Coordinator, Head of Teachers and IP Operation Team.
