Our client is a dynamic logistics firm specializing in international air and sea freight between China and Australia. Having successfully established five branches across Australia and three in China, we are now embarking on an exciting new chapter: expanding into Vietnam with our inaugural branch in Ho Chi Minh City.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Import Export Logistics Coordinator / Tariff Valuation Specialist to support our daily international operations. As a foundational member of our new Ho Chi Minh City branch, you will play a crucial role in managing the seamless flow of international shipments, ensuring customs compliance, and keeping our supply chain running efficiently.
Because you will handle frequent communications with our internal staff across Australia and China, a solid command of both the English AND Mandarin language is essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Customs Compliance & HS Coding: Accurately classify international goods using HS codes, verify tariff classifications, and ensure all shipments comply with local and international import/export regulations.
Tariff Valuation: analyzing the components of high-value commodities to assign the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes and ensure the company isn't overpaying or underpaying customs duties
Shipment Tracking & Coordination: Utilize our proprietary in-house shipping software to track international parcels, monitor shipment statuses, update system records, and proactively resolve transit delays.
Documentation Management: Prepare, review, and organize critical shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
• Bilingual Cross-Border Communication: Act as the key communication bridge between our Ho Chi Minh City branch and overseas offices in Australia and China. Candidates must be able to
communicate confidently and effectively in both English (IELTS 6.5+) and Mandarin (HSK 5+)
to collaborate with international teams, clarify logistics details, and support day-to-day cross-border operations.
Operational Support: Provide proactive, on-the-ground support to the local management and global supply chain team as we establish and grow our presence in the Vietnamese market.
Requirement
Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Logistics.
Technical Knowledge: Must possess a foundational working knowledge of HS codes and standard international shipping terms.
Education & Experience: A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field is preferred
Must be able to communicate fluently in both English and Mandarin (spoken), as this role requires daily communication with overseas teams and suppliers.
Computer Literacy: Comfortable with digital communication and standard office tools, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel for data tracking) and daily email management.
Preferred (But Not Essential):

Prior experience or knowledge regarding Australian import regulations and customs procedures.
Familiarity with handling and tracking high-value shipments.
