Material Control Specialist Full-Time 2024

Position Overview:
As a Material Control Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials throughout our production process. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, coordinating material movements, and optimizing supply chain efficiency to support our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess or obsolete materials.
Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
Implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and overages.
Material Planning and Procurement:
Collaborate with production planners and suppliers to forecast material requirements and develop procurement plans.
Place purchase orders and track delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of materials.
Collaborate with the Purchasing team to evaluate supplier performance and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Material Handling and Logistics:
Coordinate the movement of materials between warehouses, production facilities, and external suppliers.
Develop efficient material handling processes to minimize lead times, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
Utilize material handling equipment and software systems to streamline logistics operations.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Enforce quality standards for incoming materials through inspection and verification processes.
Address any quality issues or non-conformances by working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety guidelines, and industry standards related to materials management.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement within the material control function.
Implement best practices, lean principles, and automation solutions to drive operational excellence.
Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Job requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience in material control, inventory management, or supply chain operations, preferably within the automotive industry.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
Proficiency in using inventory management software, SAP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and adherence to quality standards.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
