Mô tả công việc

- Masterise Homes is looking to hire a MEP Design Manager to join the Design department team to help drive efficiency and effective function of the company.

- The MEP Design Manager will report to the MEP Design Director and will drive implementation of all design activities for all projects assigned to him, and will be assisting the Director in the building up and implementation of design processes, standards & regulations.

- The MEP Design Manager will also be a key stakeholder and a go-to person for the MEP Design Director while ensuring implementation of day to day activities, and implementation of design processes and procedures throughout the various design stages, and will be assisting the director with related projects works and all of the section's tasks



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:



A. DESIGN WORK- BUSINESS AS USUAL:

1. Assist the Director with any information related to the project in order to put together a project design brief, scope, & deliverables for new projects;

2. Assist the Director with any information related to the project in order to prepare the RFPs for Design Consultants and specialist consultants in coordination with the DDM;

3. Assist the director in collecting information related to design consultants, and relevant information to help evaluate consultant's capabilities and ability to perform well in our project;

4. Coordinate with the consultants to determine their proposed design work delivery timelines and report findings to the Director;

5. Attend kick off meetings, Technical coordination meetings, and weekly progress meetings with the consultants. And conduct the meetings on behalf of the director when needed;

6. Review and agree with the director on the Project design management Plan (PDMP) for each project;

7. Ensure timely and accurate design work by coordinating, monitoring, reviewing and managing design consultants work in conjunction with set design management plan and expected quality;

8. In coordination with the Director Manage & Monitor consultants work progress in relation to set design programmes;

9. Attend internal design review meetings with MEP design team members, to go through all drawings and documents submitted by the design consultants, and generate list of comments to be submitted to DDM in timely manner;

10. Review and report to Director all reports submitted by Design Consultant including weekly Areas of Concern;

11. In coordination with the Director, assist in managing the preparation, delivery and final submissions of Design Stage Reports for attaining the Design Stage Gateway Approvals from the HOD, Chairman and EXCO in accordance with design management Processes (DMP);

12. Contribute into Risk registry of each project and areas of concern, and coordinate resolutions with the director and report to the director on weekly basis;

13. Assist the Director in directing the consultants to stay aligned with the overall project budget throughout the various stages of design;

14. Attend value engineering workshops with the consultant to achieve targeted budget through optimal designs. Ensure that a detailed and methodical value engineering and constructability process is adopted throughout the project design process;

15. Assist the director while managing the preparation of design submission documents. When requested by the Director Assist Government submission team with any technical discussions and resolution of issues;

16. Assist Director in maintaining record of Design Consultant(s) submittals, and correspondence received. And ensure uploading of Documents to server through the assistance of department secretary;

17. Assist the Director with any information needed to evaluate any variation orders/change requests submitted by the Design Consultant(s);

18. Assist the Director with inputs required for presentations to BOD.



B. INTERNAL DEPARTMENTS- RELATIONS & COORDINATION:

1. Liaise with HOD, DDM and Design director to ensure design work is executed in alignment with overall project vision and expectations

2. Support Director with any technical input or studies required

3. Coordinate with the Director and support with relevant information and inputs to implement company processes during project validation period and throughout the various stages of design

4. When requested by the Director, assist Projects department in resolving design related issues on site, and propose solutions in conjunction with DDM

5. Support the Director with any information needed by QS/ Estimation Department while development of project cost estimate at each design stage



C. IMPLEMENTATION OF DEPARTMENT STANDARDS & PROCESSES:

1. Implement the design management plan (DMP) standard form. Seek Director's guidance for clarifications when needed. Assist the director in creating Project design management plan for each project;

2. Implement standard RFP templates for design consultancy services, and assist the Director in creating RFP's for MEP design consultancy services;

3. Review & implement MASTERISE design standards manual, and coordinate implementation of the standards by the design consultants throughout the various stages of design;

4. In coordination with the Director and other team members, Implement the use of design review checklists, and periodically contribute to developing the document;

5. Assist the Director in creating "statutory design guidelines" document & compiling all relevant information. And assist in keeping the document up to date based on latest authority requirements;

6. Implement Design department processes & procedures. Seek Director's guidance for clarifications when needed;

7. Implement all design standards and procedures throughout the various stages of design;

8. Ensure periodical development of "Lessons- learnt log" sheet in coordination with Design Directors and feedback received through design comments received by government authorities & VE workshops;

9. Maintain awareness of industry trends, methodologies, tools, templates and best practices;

10. Establish professional relationships with peer professionals in the industry.



D. DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONAL CAPABILITIES:

1. Advocate & embrace a culture of continuous improvements within the department

2. Advocate & embrace a culture of transparency & accountability within the department

3. Advocate & embrace a culture of cooperation within team members in the department and with other internal departments based on the common goals and objectives of the company

4. Seek the Director's guidance to set up a road map visualizing a clear pathway to career progression and growth within the company

5. Seek the Design director's periodical feedback on your performance, and when needed seek the Director's direction on how to re-align with the department's objectives

6. Understand your areas of weaknesses and request periodical mentoring from the Design Director or setting up training sessions to sharpen capabilities
