Manage, coordinate, and supervise geological activities during drilling operations to ensure wells are safely delivered, accurately positioned within the target reservoir, and fully evaluated.
Participate in pre-drilling planning and preparation, including technical evaluation of G&G services such as Mudlogging, LWD, Wireline, Coring, and Testing.
Support G&G/AFE budgeting, technical evaluation of contractors, and issuance of Service Orders within delegated authority.
Prepare and implement data acquisition, logging, coring, and sampling programs; organize pre-job meetings with service companies.
Supervise and coordinate Wellsite Geologists (WSGs) and G&G service contractors at the rig site.
QC and finalize Daily Geological Reports (DGRs), geological data, MWD/LWD data, Electrical Logging data, and other acquired data.
Monitor, evaluate, and interpret geological data in real time to support drilling decisions, reservoir evaluation, and well placement optimization.
Coordinate with the Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Team, and onshore Subsurface/G&G teams throughout the drilling campaign.
Provide instructions for the handling, packing, and shipment of geological samples, including cuttings, cores, and fluids.
Support mobilization/demobilization of G&G personnel, tools, and equipment without impacting the drilling schedule.
Prepare the Geological Completion Report/End of Well Report after well completion.
Review final contractor reports and verify G&G service performance and invoices for approval and payment.
Coordinate with the Vung Tau supply base for sample transportation, equipment returns, and logistics close-out.
Compile operational Lessons Learnt and update Geological Operations documentation as required.
Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, the Project Execution Plan, Geological Operations Manual, and applicable PVEP/Petrovietnam/PAC regulations.

University degree in Geology, Petroleum Science, Drilling, Production, or Reservoir Engineering.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written, particularly for technical communication and reporting.
Proficiency in geological software and hardware; experience with Techlog, Geosoft, and Microsoft Office is preferred.
Preferably more than 15 years of experience in the petroleum industry.
At least 05 years of experience as an Operation/Operations Geologist.
Experience supervising Mudlogging, Wireline, DD/MWD/LWD, and Slickline Logging services.
Practical experience in clastic and Basement drilling in the Cuu Long Basin.
Experience in picking Core Points, Pre-test Points, Casing Points, Top Reservoirs, and TD.
Ability to evaluate formations using Lithology, Drilling, MWD/LWD, and Electrical Logging data.
Experience witnessing and performing quality control of LWD/MWD, Electrical Logging, and Logging While Drilling operations.
Experience with clastic and fractured Basement reservoirs.
Experience working in the Cuu Long Basin is highly preferred.
Strong data analysis, quality control, and geological reporting skills.
Ability to provide technical guidance and real-time decision support during rig operations.
Strong contractor management, cross-functional coordination, and geological risk management skills.
Age within the working age stipulated by Vietnamese labor law.
