I. Job Objectives:
Department: ODM
Reports to: Head of ODM
The QA/QC & Compliance Manager owns quality gate control, product compliance control, supplier quality follow-up, and quality/compliance launch-readiness clearance for department projects. This role ensures products move forward based on approved standards, complete documents, test evidence, and clear approval records.
Location: 568 Luy Ban Bich, Tan Phu Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
Quality Gate & Sample Approval
Own quality gates from first sample, revised sample, approved sample, pre-production sample, to mass production readiness.
Review samples against approved specifications, BOM, artwork, packaging, claims, quality standards, and product requirements before moving to the next stage.
Approve, reject, hold, or request revision based on sample quality, test evidence, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Ensure products do not move forward based on assumptions, verbal confirmation, incomplete documents, or unclear approval.Compliance, Testing & Claim Control
Define and track required product testing with labs and suppliers by product type and target market, and review compliance documents and supporting evidence.
Check that product claims, packaging information, test results, and supporting documents are aligned before launch approval.
Flag weak claims, missing evidence, incomplete test documents, incorrect product information, or compliance risks early.
Maintain internal launch compliance checklists and ensure all critical compliance requirements are completed before launch clearance.
Supplier Quality & Corrective Action
Assess suppliers based on sample quality, defect history, response speed, document reliability, and issue-resolution performance.
Follow up CAPA, remake, replacement, credit, or other corrective actions when quality issues occur.
Escalate repeated supplier issues, poor documentation, slow response, or recurring defects with clear facts and recommended actions.
Launch Readiness, Process Discipline & Improvement
Own quality and compliance launch-readiness clearance by confirming that samples, testing, documents, artwork, supplier confirmation, and approval evidence are complete before a product is cleared for launch.
Identify missing documents, incomplete approvals, unclear ownership, process shortcuts, or repeated non-compliance by person, project, or supplier.
Require responsible owners to correct gaps and close open issues before a project moves forward.
Report quality risks, open issues, supplier performance, and launch readiness to the Head of ODM; escalate gate violations, repeated non-compliance, or approval shortcuts with facts and recommended actions.
Improve quality checklists, approval rules, sample review process, compliance checklists, and documentation discipline over time.
Coach the team on quality standards, compliance awareness, approval discipline, and documentation requirements.
Perform other related duties, projects, or assignments as assigned by company management based on business needs.
II. Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Cosmetic Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
8-10 years of experience in QA/QC, compliance, quality management, supplier quality, operational control, process audit, or product development quality.
Strong understanding of product quality control, compliance documentation, testing requirements, supplier quality, approval gates, and launch-readiness control.
Able to read and review specifications, BOM, artwork, packaging files, test reports, supplier documents, approval records, and compliance evidence.
Strong documentation and follow-up skills, with the ability to build structured tracking systems and maintain factual approval records.
Firm, careful, and factual; able to challenge incomplete information, weak evidence, or approval shortcuts in a professional way.
Able to manage multiple products, suppliers, documents, and timelines with strong attention to detail.
Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, ownership, and structured thinking, with the ability to align cross-functional teams under pressure.
Familiar with AI tools for supplier comparison, risk summaries, and decision memos; verifies outputs before use.
English proficiency is required.
Preferred Background
Experience in cosmetics, skincare, personal care, beauty accessories, FMCG, or consumer goods is a plus.
Candidates with supplier quality, factory coordination, lab testing, claim review, compliance documentation, or product launch control experience will be prioritized.
