Seafreight Manager

People Management and Leadership:
• Responsible for assessing, training, coaching, and motivating the team members so that they optimize productivity within the workplace through professional development.
• Facilitates knowledge sharing and collaboration among team members.
• Develop employees and foster a positive company culture, leading to business success.
• Set up clear goals and monitor individual performance indicators.
• Interview potential candidates if additional manpower is required.
Procurement
• Procure competitive Seafreight rates, monitor, and review market rates, and make necessary adjustments/ negotiations with Carriers / Consolidators on a regular basis.
• Establish strong relationships with Carriers, NVOCCs, Consolidators, and haulers to support local, regional, and global strategy.
• Constantly looking at opportunity's potential for product development.
• Review services provided by vendors, and take necessary action to ensure the reliability of the services.
• Leads Procurement and Contract negotiation of International and Domestic freight
Operational
• Ensure Service excellence, work on service enhancements and process improvement on freight service to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
• Work on both local and overseas opportunities and/or RFQs.
• Provide various reports including monthly management reports and carrier and trade lane reports.
• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team to provide solutions.
• Developing and implementing commercial strategies in line with company goals and objectives, with the aim of accelerating growth.
• Share deep market intelligence by staying close to market drivers, and leverage industry forums and platforms to share insights on market developments firsthand.
