We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to build the data-driven audit capability for our retail business. You will move internal audit from periodic sampling to continuous monitoring, so that anomalies are detected early, before they become losses.
Why this role matters
Retail runs on thin margins and high transaction volumes, so small leakages add up quickly. Your analytics will surface them.
You work directly with the Internal Audit Director and Manager, with access to the people and data you need.
You design the detection logic, build the dashboards, and shape how audit is done across the business.
What you'll do
Design and run audit tests using data analytics, and lead quick data-driven reviews when needed (the core of the role)
Build and run the annual continuous auditing program for retail: define risk criteria, take over data from the centralized data warehouse, identify data quality issues (duplicates, missing or inconsistent values, mismatches across systems) and clean and transform it into audit-ready datasets, and develop automated dashboards and reports on key business risks
Build repeatable validation checks and document data logic, so that results are reliable and traceable; distinguish genuine anomalies from data errors and work with the Data Engineering team to fix recurring issues at the source
Monitor, detect and report abnormal patterns and insights
Report significant governance, compliance, risk and control issues to the Internal Audit Director, and follow up on action plans until they are closed
Support the investigation of suspected fraud
Support the Aud
it Manager in training team members
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Auditing, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field
4-5+ years of progressive experience in data analyst/business intelligence roles
Strong skills in data querying, data collection and analytical tools for big data, including hands-on experience cleansing, transforming and validating large datasets in a data warehouse environment (SQL required; Python/R or dbt a plus)
A business-risk mindset, with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Professional English
Clear communication, able to explain complex findings through presentations, memos and discussion
Detail-oriented, resilient, well organized, and comfortable initiating change
Nice to have
Retail industry experience
CPA, CIA, ACCA or a data analytics certification
