Job description

BillerudKorsnäs Beetham Ltd is part of BillerudKorsnäs AB (Sweden), a world leading international and innovative manufacturer of technical papers and provider of packaging solutions, employing approx. 4,500 employees worldwide.

Our UK manufacturing site (employing approx. 140 people) is an internationally recognised speciality paper manufacturer, being a Global/European leader in supplying paper products to the healthcare and food packaging markets.

We are offering the opportunity for a motivated individual to join a team of dedicated Engineers in maintaining our paper machines and auxiliary processes onsite, to maximise efficiencies safely, 24 hours per day. The successful applicant is to have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar environment.

The Shift Electricians work 12 hour shifts, which are based on a 4 week cycle, including nights and weekend working, however we do offer very attractive periods of rest.

Engineering within paper mills offers a very diverse and interesting scope of daily work, and we are looking for an individual with the enthusiasm and energy to further strengthen our team.

Key Duties:

General mill-wide electrical maintenance work and fault finding on paper machines and ancillary plant
Strong health and safety culture
Proactive attitude to identifying and rectifying faults
Panel wiring modifications and installations, motor testing/replacement, bench testing etc.
Experience of DC and AC motor drives and control systems highly desirable
Strong knowledge of control loops and instrumentation setup/calibration
Basic maintenance and fault finding on PLC systems, gauging systems and inspection systems

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 (or equiv.) in Electrical Engineering (Essential)

Personal qualities

A min. of 3 years' work experience as an Electrician (Essential)
The above gained in an industrial environment (Desirable)
Paper mill experience a distinct advantage (Desirable)
