Supply Chain Manager

* Job Summary:
Provide senior knowledge and leadership to develop best practices and skills development in the areas of procurement, logistics and warehousing.
Develop strategies for the continuous supply of materials/parts to sailing boat production at multiple sites with focus on delivery in full and on-time to avoid any missing parts.
Supervision / Management of 10 Purchasing staff, 07 Warehouse staff, 03 Logistics staff in the Supply Chain Department.
This position reports to CMI's Head of Operations & Finance.
* Key Responsibilities:
• Procurement:
o Ensure ordering materials/parts on time in accordance to lead-time to ensure availability of materials on stocks and before production starts
o Strategize plan for cost reduction and cost avoidance on price increases.
o Improved forecasting: We have production booked out for years and with this we must work on long term material forecasts to secure competitive pricing.
o Sourcing for alternative parts to improve overall quality of sailing boats and ensure continuity of supply.
o Develop and train purchasing team in terms of proactive sourcing, negotiations and supply planning.
• Warehousing:
o Ensure smooth warehouse operations in receiving, storing and issuing parts to boat production in-time and in-full.
o Maintain continuous inventory cycle count of parts to ensure accuracy of actual stocks on hand versus GSS (ERP systems)
o Analyze the whole material flow of the warehouse for current state and where we need to be in both short term and long term.
o Establish kit delivery for each production area rather than individual part collection by production staff
o Reduce inventory variation.
• Logistics:
o Ensure that all imported parts are cleared to customs on-time to avoid any storage charges at the port.
o Process on-time at the minimal cost all export/shipping documents for the completed sailing boats
o Prepare complete and accurate documentations for sailing boat launch in Vietnam
o Continued strategy for consolidated sea freight on long-term purchasing plan
o Reduction in short term air freight.
• ERP (Global Shop Solution): Make it the primary source of all critical data, and all other parts for automatic ordering and planning systems
