1. Purpose and scope
The pre-sales engineer will be responsible for consulting, designing, implementing storage & backup solutions for existing and potential customers, will have knowledge of customer's environment, and will have experience of supporting pre and post sales activities.
The role requires wide range of knowledge of storage and backup topologies and technologies, and demands the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all level.
The pre-sales engineer will report to the Technology Solution Director of the Technology Solution division of Hong Co Group.
2. Key accountabilities and role outputs
Responsibilities will include but will not limited to:
- Act as the senior storage and backup design lead for all sales opportunities.
- Provide trusted technical advice and recommendations to customers and colleagues.
- Influence, persuade and negotiate with senior stakeholders in member and customer.
- Engage directly with sales and account teams to support pre-sales activities
- Develop and maintain strong working replationships with partners to ensure effectiv collaboration in responding to customer needs.
- Act as the lead of technical adviser to project teams, colleagues and customers by providing high level technical expertise.
- Work closely with infrastructure, and network and security team to design complex solutions.
- Liaise with colleagues across the company to help ensure solution design activities are documented and tracked accordingly.
- Contribute to the development of new technologies within Hong Co, drawing on technical developments in own field to meet emerging customer requirements.
- Maintain and develop the required technical knowledge by attending relevant meetings, workshops and events.
- Represent the group ar relevant meetings, conferences and working parties as required.

1. Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred
2. Experience
· Significant experience of storage and backup solution design and implementation
· Significant experience in a pre-sales role in a technical environment
· Experience of working in a distributed team
· Experience of working in a multi-client solutions provider
3. Knowledge
· Strong background with Storage and Backup technologies
· Thorough understanding of storage and backup operations and design principles.
· Good of literacy in IT personal productivity systems such as email, electronic diaries and relevant analytical tools

· Experience with VMWare (ESX, ESXi, VCenter)
Nice to have
· Technical knowledge of MS Directory Services, Exchange, and core infrastructure technologies.
· ITIL knowledge or accreditation
