Tax Consultant - Business Tax Advisory

We are looking for a Tax Consultant with a strong legal and tax foundation and 3 years of experience to join our Business Advisory Tax Services. This role is primarily focused on tax consulting & compliance, covering tax advisory on transactions, operational and corporate structuring tax matters, combined with support for periodic tax filings, document and contract review, and tax audits. The ideal candidate brings solid regulatory research and drafting skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to identify compliance risks from a legal-tax perspective, while working closely with Manager/Team member on client engagements and assisting in mentoring junior team members.

Job description

• Conduct tax and legal research and prepare technical analyses to support tax advisory engagements
• Support tax advisory projects relating to corporate tax structuring, cross-border transactions, business model review, and other complex tax matters
• Examine the validity and legality of documents and contracts related to tax obligations
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on clients' operations and compliance obligations
• Assist in periodic tax filings (CIT, PIT, VAT, Foreign Contractor Tax) ensuring full compliance with current regulations
• Provide technical support, document review and preparation during tax audits and inspections
• Review contracts and transactions from a legal-tax perspective to identify compliance risks
• Identify and flag potential legal-tax risks arising during the compliance process, escalating to Manager when necessary
• Coordinate engagement progress, monitor project timelines and deliverables, and ensure assignments are completed on schedule
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with client contacts
• Other tasks as assigned

Job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law or Business related majors with strong foundation of Law knowledge
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in tax/legal consulting firm
• Professional qualifications such as lawyer's practicing certificate, legal consultant certificate, CPA/ ACCA (completed or in-progress) is an advantage
• Good understanding of Vietnamese enterprise, investment, foreign exchange, labor, and other relevant business regulations.
• Demonstrate strong social/ verbal/ written communication, interpersonal skills and collaboration skills with clients and colleagues
• Good at using English language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) in social and business communication
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Willing to go the extra mile for work
