Reporting Line: Engineering Manager

Want to shape how Parcel Perform's engineering team in Vietnam builds AI-native B2B software for e-commerce logistics? Parcel Perform is looking for a Technical Lead to own the architecture, mentor a team of engineers, and turn ambitious product goals into a well-executed technical roadmap.

You have deep backend expertise and real experience leading engineers - not just writing great code, but shaping how a team works. You're as comfortable in a design review as you are hands-on in the code when a hard problem needs solving. You want ownership over not just code, but how a team builds - its standards, its velocity, its growth. We're looking for you.

WE NEED YOU ON OUR TEAM!

As a Technical Lead, you sit at the intersection of architecture, delivery, and people. You are accountable for the technical output of your team - not just your own.

• Architecture & Technical Direction - Own the technical roadmap and architectural decisions for your team's domain within our microservices ecosystem, balancing scalability, cost, and delivery speed. Translate product requirements into an executable technical plan, and translate technical trade-offs into terms Product and Business stakeholders can act on. Provide technical scoping, estimation, and risk input during planning.
• Systems Resilience - Ensure the services your team owns are observable, resilient, and cost-effective in production - not just functionally correct at code review time. Serve as the first escalation point when an incident hits a system your team owns, driving triage and resolution before looping in wider support.
• Team Leadership & Growth - Lead a team of 4 software engineers. Run code reviews, unblock technical roadblocks, and set the bar for engineering quality and practices. Coach engineers across levels, identify skill gaps, and help your team grow into the next stage of their careers. Participate in technical interviews and help shape hiring decisions for your team.
• Cross-squad Alignment - Collaborate with Tech Leads, Staff Engineers, and other technical stakeholders across squads and chapters to keep architecture decisions and practices consistent across the wider platform.
• AI-Native Engineering Practices - Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development across your team's workflow - from requirements to testing - and help set the standard for how the wider engineering org works with AI tooling.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING ALONG!

Must-have Requirements

• Experience: 8+ years in Software Development, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Team Lead, Engineering Manager, or equivalent) at a company with an established product, a multi-engineer team, and real production complexity.
• Demonstrated Leadership: Real examples of running code reviews, unblocking a team, mentoring engineers, owning architecture decisions, or driving a technical decision that others had to align around - not just "worked well with others."
• Core Languages: Solid backend expertise, preferably Python or Scala. Strong candidates from other backend languages (e.g., Java, Go, [protected info], Rust...) who can ramp into our stack are welcome.
• System Architecture: Proven track record designing and owning scalable systems - microservices, in-memory databases, load balancing, caching.
• Database Mastery: Comfortable with both SQL and NoSQL databases at scale.
• Engineering Mindset: Strong grasp of OOP, design patterns, and what "good engineering practice" looks like when you're the one setting the standard.
• Communication: Able to explain a technical delay or trade-off to a non-technical stakeholder without losing them - and without losing the nuance.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field.
• AI-Native Development: Practical experience integrating AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, or similar) into your own workflow - not just occasional use, but a demonstrated habit of using AI across the development lifecycle (design, implementation, testing, documentation).
• Infrastructure: Familiarity with the AWS stack for cloud-native architecture decisions.
