Technical Manager

The Technical Manager's responsibility is to provide design and application advice related to the products to owners, architects, main contractors and installers, to support and train the sales, to attend customer sales meetings providing technical advice, to provide on-site support and advice for major projects.
The Technical Manager will take a lead role in overseeing product compliance for the business, providing organised technical support, working with the Technical Director in the management of day to day technical support to meet commercial requirement across the region of APAC and other where necessary.
Leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to be successful within this role, as well as initiative and a positive proactive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Commercial teams to review our current technical offering and understand how that aligns with the requirements of our broad customer base, that includes, Property Owners, Developers, Architects, Main Contractors, and our Transactional Customers.
• Work with the Commercial, Marketing & Technical teams to put forward new product and service ideas based on market feedback and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop market ready solutions as well as ensuring that our full product offerings are fully compliant with all market requirements.
• Support the sales teams in the region to provide technical advice and guidance to customers and projects.
• Develop project-based product specifications.
• Provide hands-on technical pre-sales support for complex / large projects.
• Assist with the monitoring of the regulatory environment e.g. building and fire codes.
• Attends to sub-contract consultants for progress meetings related to design drawings and Interpret customer requirements in relation to company product range.
• Provides weekly report of projects under execution as required.
• Prepares Kingspan standing seam, cladding panels and insulated panel shop and erection drawings related to architectural and structural steel drawings.
• Develops all necessary details such as fixing details, flashings, gutters, end closures etc.
• Checks BOQ and cutting list before issuing for procurement and production.
• Prepares 3D modelling and 3D drawings for building envelope as and when required.
• Take a lead role in the divisional compliance team, ensure Products are being legally placed on the market and conform to the relevant regional standards and achieved certifications.
• Review the current structure of our technical teams to see how we can better integrate our services to give a more consistent and comprehensive level of support to our entire customer base and assist in delivering the maximum return on each product we work on.
• Develop and implement ongoing evaluation and training programs for all staff, ensure all employees meet expected competencies for their role and ensures training plans are implemented to address any competency gaps.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
