Position Summary
Lead and manage technical excellence for HVAC and control systems across the Southeast Asia & Oceania region. Provide strategic technical guidance, develop team capabilities through training and mentoring, ensure product quality standards, and bridge technical communication between regional operations and headquarters in South Korea.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Act as a second line technical support in case the local country technical team cannot solve a (structural) issue for air conditioning products or control systems
• Lead pre-
sales technical support including design verification, technical documentation preparation, load calculations, airflow analysis, system sizing, and system design using design tools
• Ensure designs comply with safety, environmental, and technical regulations (local and international)
• Review shop drawings and lead site surveys; propose optimized HVAC solutions and prepare technical input for key business opportunities
• Oversee technical quality standards through continuous monitoring of design compliance; organize regular technical review meetings with regional sales and engineering teams
• Provide technical training to our local teams and/or local trainers, "train the trainer";
• Develop and execute comprehensive technical training programs covering HVAC fundamentals, load calculations, duct/piping design, CAD/Revit, controls, and energy standards
• Align training initiatives with sales objectives and new product launches; mentor and develop regional technical teams
• Collect, standardize, and localize technical materials ensuring accuracy for regional catalogues and documentation
• Collect 'Voice Of Customer' product and service improvements for air conditioners & controls systems and share with our Product Management department
• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; degree in air conditioning or refrigeration preferred;
• Minimum of 8+ years' experience in HVAC technical support, pre-
sales engineering, or system design (experience in both pre-sales and service engineering highly preferred).
• Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to motivate and develop technical teams
• Being able to improve established processes based on requests from the field;
• Someone who is used to work within complex matrix and international environments;
• Who takes responsibility for his actions and knows how to enthuse his local countries team colleagues;
• A qualified candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills with an ability to support all stakeholders;
• Good communication skills are a necessity towards Head Quarter in South Korea and the local country organizations;
• As a person he/she must be empathetic, a real problem solver, confident, creative and a strong representative of the technical team within the internal organization and towards the external contact persons;
• A good knowledge (speaking and writing) of the English language is mandatory and preferably any additional Asian language;
• Frequently travelling within Southeast Asia & Oceania (10% to 20%) based on actual requirements.
