Who we are
Autonomous is a US company founded in 2015. We design and manufacture our own hardware and sell it worldwide, from offices in New York, San Francisco, Shenzhen and Saigon. We publish our CAD, electronics and firm ware as open source.
The product
Factory is our newest line of business: describe a product, and it gets made and shipped. You type a description or drop in an image, and it comes back as a real object you can hold - vases, keycaps, deskgear, board games, cosplay props. Anyone can remix someone else's design into their own and print it.
The app behind it, Vibe, is open source: it turns a description into parametric CAD, previews it in 3D, and sends it straight to a printer.
What you will do
Design the objects Factory makes - form, proportion, details, and how the thing feels in someone's hand.
Create 3D models, CAD files, renders and prototype-ready concepts.
Own the printer. Print your own designs, see what fails, fix it, print again.
Design inside real printing constraints: wall thickness, overhangs, orientation, supports, tolerance and fit, print time, material.
Build your designs as parametric fam ilies rather than one-off files, so the tool can generate variants instead of you redrawing them.
Look at what the AI generates and make it better - when a result is ugly orwill not print, say why, and help us fix it at the source.
Prepare renders and turntables for the Factory feed, the app and the store.
