Technical Lead is responsible for leading the technical direction, architecture, design, and delivery of software solutions. This role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, ensuring high-quality engineering practices, scalable system architecture, and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and development roadmap.
- Lead technical design discussions and architectural decision-making.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and development methodologies.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding guidelines, and best practices.
Software Development
- Participate in hands-on development of critical system components.
- Review code and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, and automation.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide solutions.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
Project Delivery
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Estimate development effort and contribute to project planning.
- Manage technical risks and dependencies.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical reviews.
Architecture & Infrastructure
- Design and maintain microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems.
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and governance requirements.
- Work closely with DevOps teams to support CI/CD automation and deployment strategies.
- Drive system modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
Experience
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in a Technical Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Engineering role.
- Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
Technical Skills
- Strong programming expertise in one or more languages:
- Java
- .NET/C#
- Strong understanding of:
- Software Architecture
- Design Patterns
- Object-Oriented Design
- API Design
- Microservices Architecture
- Distributed Systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git and version control systems
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of application security and secure coding practices.
- Experience with high-availability and mission-critical systems.
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with system integration and enterprise architecture frameworks.
Soft Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Strong decision-making and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strategic thinking with a strong focus on business outcomes.
