(1) Assistant Head Teacher (Academic)
Job overview:
The Assistant Head Teacher (Academic) supports the Head of Secondary in respect of Academic matters in the Secondary school, (comprising Middle School and High School) including all MOET related matters, but notwithstanding the Integrated Curriculum in the Secondary School including working with the Head of Secondary to oversee provision at IGCSE and A level.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Support the Head of Secondary in developing and monitoring planning including lesson plans, schemes of work, staffing arrangements, enrolment plans, recruitment targets etc., and the school's internal regulations and procedures.
• Be responsible for all MOET related activities, provision, expectations and implementation.
• Be aware of, and assist the Head of Secondary in respect of Integrated Curriculum provision.
• Be familiar with provision and requirements for Cambridge IGCSE and A level courses and support the Head of Secondary and the Examinations Officer to implement requirements of Cambridge courses and Examinations.
• Assist the Head of Secondary in observing and monitoring the provision and quality of teaching and learning at the school, ensuring alignment with the directions and standards of the EMASI school system.
• Develop plans and organize the implementation of school events and festivals based on specific themes.
• Monitor, review and propose developments of Extra-curricular activities, including, but not limited to, Academic Extra-curricular support lessons.
• Organise appropriate local school trips and support staff and student participants.
• Take responsibility for the monitoring and participation of all activities related to teaching and training in the Secondary school.
• Implement solutions to maintain and improve the quality of care and education of Secondary students to ensure safety in line with all School Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.
• Build and maintain close relationships through the school community, including students, parents, colleagues and providers.
• Act of behalf of the Head of Secondary to manage and resolve assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Secondary.
Teaching Commitment:• The role includes teaching 12 lessons per week.
(2) Assistant Head Teacher (Pastoral/ DSL)
Job overview:
The Assistant Head Teacher (Pastoral/DSL) supports the Head of Secondary in respect of pastoral matters in the Secondary school, (comprising Middle School and High School) including Safeguarding and Child Protection, student deportment and discipline, as well as being the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Support the Head of Secondary in developing and monitoring systems to support student behaviour, compliance with school rules and expectations and the school's internal regulations and procedures.
• Qualify as the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead and be responsible for managing Safeguarding and Child Protection according to best international practice.
• Advise and monitor the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding policies, suggest inclusions and amendments to existing policies and ensure that all colleagues are aware of current and adapted expectations in respect of Safeguarding.
• Work closely with the School Counsellor, Head of Secondary and Managing Director to apply policies and ensure student well-being.
• Manage the team of Home Room teachers to ensure consistency in approach and expectations in respect of student conduct, parental communication and liaison with external agencies.
• Assist the Head of Secondary in observing, applying, communicating and enforcing the expectations of the school, ensuring alignment with the directions and standards of the EMASI school system.
• Participate in the recruitment and training of new teachers; provide professional guidance to colleagues, including training plans, CPD provision and school based training to enhance professional competencies.
• Implement solutions to improve and reinforce the quality of care for Secondary school students to ensure safety for students in school.
• Support school events and festivals and the provision of Extra-curricular activities.
• Take responsibility for the monitoring and participation of all activities related to student deportment, adherence to school rules and expectations.
• Implement solutions to maintain and improve the quality of care and education of Secondary students to ensure safety in line with all School Safeguarding and Child Protection procedures.
• Build and maintain close relationships through the school community, including students, parents, and colleagues.
• Act of behalf of the Head of Secondary to manage and resolve assigned tasks.

• Proficiency in English communication.
Experience:
Minimum 3 year's experience in a bilingual Secondary School. Familiarity of the MOET system.

• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and manage a wide range of people

Minimum 3 years' experience in a bilingual Secondary School or similar setting.

• The desire to be the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead and to seek qualifications which support the role
