Automation Engineer - Python

Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Automation Developer to build and maintain backend automation frameworks, internal developer tools, and quality engineering solutions. This is an engineering-focused role, not a traditional QA position.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for backend systems.
Build integration, contract, performance, and regression test suites.
Develop internal tools such as simulators, load generators, data seeders, and debugging utilities.
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
Improve system testability, observability, and engineering productivity.
Collaborate with engineers on architecture, design reviews, and quality improvements.
Mentor team members and promote automation best practices.
Requirements
5+ years of software engineering experience.
Strong Python development skills (production-level coding).
Proven experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
Solid understanding of backend architecture, APIs, databases, and messaging systems.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.).
Strong ownership mindset and end-to-end automation experience.
Preferred Skills
Internal tooling or developer productivity tools.
Performance testing tools (Locust, k6, Gatling).
Contract testing, chaos testing, observability, and distributed systems.
Experience with Docker, Kafka, RabbitMQ, REST/gRPC APIs.
