Role Description
This is a remote, contract role for an Automation Engineer.
The Automation
Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automated systems and workflows that support FileSig's security tools and platforms. Daily responsibilities include configuring automation frameworks, integrating robotics and control systems, developing and testing automation scripts, and optimizing process control for reliability and scalability. The role involves troubleshooting electrical and automation issues, collaborating with cybersecurity and development teams to align automation with product requirements, and documenting technical procedures and system configurations.
The Automation
Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement of automation standards, monitoring system performance, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Automation and Robotics skills for designing and maintaining automated systems.
Candidates should possess solid Process Control and Troubleshooting skills to ensure stable, efficient, and resilient operations.
Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering knowledge to support integration, wiring, and hardware-related diagnostics.
Experience with industrial or software automation platforms, scripting (e.g., Python, PLC programming), and control systems integration is beneficial.
Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document systems comprehensively.
Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, cloud environments, and safety standards in automation is an advantage.
