Azure Cloud Engineer
Ready to take ownership of Azure infrastructure in a truly international environment?
At Manuchar, technology connects teams and operations across the globe. As our Azure Cloud Engineer, based in Bonifacio Global City, you'll help keep that environment secure, reliable and ready to grow.
This is a senior, hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges while also looking at the bigger picture. You'll work across identity, cloud infrastructure, Azure Virtual Desktop, databases, security and cost optimisation - with the opportunity to improve, automate and shape the way we manage our Azure environment.
You'll be part of an international IT organisation and collaborate with application teams, data engineers, security stakeholders and colleagues across different regions.
What will you do?
Azure infrastructure & automation
- Design, deploy and maintain secure and scalable Azure infrastructure.
- Build and maintain Bicep templates for repeatable, policy-compliant deployments.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Maintain Azure Policy, tagging strategies and naming conventions across subscriptions.
Identity & access management
- Manage Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, PIM, MFA and RBAC.
- Govern user provisioning, groups and role assignments.
- Support hybrid identity between on-premises Active Directory and Entra ID.
Azure Virtual Desktop
- Deploy and manage AVD host pools, session hosts, application groups and workspaces.
- Improve image management and update cycles.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, FSLogix and performance issues.
Database & cloud workloads
- Manage Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL and SQL Server on Azure VMs.
- Implement and test backup, restore and high-availability strategies.
- Collaborate with our data teams on Microsoft Fabric integration and connectivity.
Security, reliability & FinOps
- Apply security best practices using Microsoft Defender for Cloud and relevant Azure/CIS benchmarks.
- Manage patching, vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection and business continuity.
- Monitor Azure consumption and identify opportunities to optimise cloud costs.
- Support budgets, alerts, rightsizing, reserved instances and FinOps reporting.
- Maintain monitoring, alerting and operational runbooks.
You'll also act as an escalation point for cloud-related incidents and contribute to architecture decisions, documentation and continuous improvement across our cloud environment.
What do you bring?
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, PIM and hybrid identity.
- Production experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Strong experience with Bicep/ARM and Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience with Azure cost management and FinOps.
- Working knowledge of Azure database services and backup strategies.
- Good understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, NSGs and private endpoints.
- Experience working in hybrid Azure/on-premises environments.
- A strong security mindset and experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud and RBAC.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is an asset.
- You communicate easily with technical colleagues, business stakeholders and external vendors.
- You're comfortable collaborating remotely with colleagues across different countries and time zones.
Certifications
Relevant Microsoft certifications are an asset, including:
