Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Shopify Developer with strong backend expertise to take ownership of our e-commerce ecosystem built on Shopify Plus.
You will lead the development of themes, apps, and custom workflows to elevate user experience, performance, and scalability.

This role reports directly to the CTO and collaborates closely with operations, marketing, and cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shopify Plus systems with a strong focus on backend logic, app development, performance, and scalability.
• Lead the backend development for Shopify Apps (Private/Public) using [protected info], ensuring clean architecture, robust API design, and secure integrations.
• Build and extend backend services that integrate seamlessly with Shopify Storefront, Admin APIs, Webhooks, and Shopify Functions.
• Customize and extend Shopify Flows and Checkout processes, including advanced logic, automation, and server-side customization.
• Design, develop, and maintain internal microservices or backend modules supporting multi-store, multi-currency, pricing, bundling, and inventory logic.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services (ERP, CRM, payment gateways, shipping, CMS, etc.) and ensure data consistency across systems.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to provide clear API contracts, ensure smooth data flows, and support theme customization when needed.
• Implement optimizations in performance, caching, security, and logging/monitoring for stability at scale.
• Review code, create technical documentation, conduct testing, and enforce backend best practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in Shopify development (Storefront, Admin API, GraphQL/REST, Webhooks).
• Strong backend skills:

  • Express / NestJS
  • RESTful APIs & GraphQL
  • OAuth, JWT, Session security
  • Queue workers & batch jobs
• Proven experience developing Shopify Apps (Private/Public) with solid knowledge of the app lifecycle (auth, billing, webhook handling, Polaris, App Bridge...).
• Experience with backend architecture design, version control (Git), CI/CD, and cloud deployment (AWS/Docker).
• Ability to work with Shopify Plus features such as multi-store, multi-currency, bundle logic, or internationalization.
• Familiarity with frontend technologies (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for occasional collaboration, but not the main focus.
• Good understanding of web security standards and data protection.
• English proficiency in reading and writing technical documentation (IELTS 5.5 equivalent).

Nice-to-Have

• Published Shopify App on the Marketplace.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, Redis, Docker, or serverless architecture.
• Experience in fintech, blockchain, headless commerce, or global e-commerce systems.
• Knowledge of modern frontend frameworks (React/Vue) is a plus but not required.

• Working hours: 9:00 - 17:00 (5 days per week); Breaking time: 12:00-13:00
