Backend Systems Engineer

// What You'll Do
Responsibilities
Design and implement microservices for robot fleet management and telemetry ingestion
Build high-throughput MQTT/WebSocket bridges for real-time robot communication
Develop REST and gRPC APIs for WMS, ERP, and third-party system integration
Architect scalable data pipelines for robotics telemetry, logging, and analytics
Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes (GKE/EKS) with high availability SLAs
Implement OTA update distribution systems for robot software
Define and monitor service SLOs with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
// What We Need
Requirements
▸3+ years backend development in Go, Rust, or similar systems language
▸Experience with message brokers: MQTT, Kafka, or RabbitMQ
▸Proficiency with Kubernetes deployment and operations
▸Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and time-series DBs (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)
▸Experience designing REST or gRPC APIs for embedded/IoT device integration
▸Understanding of security best practices: mTLS, JWT, RBAC

Experience with robotics fleet management platforms (Fleet.AI, InOrbit)
Knowledge of ROS2 bridge protocols (rosbridge, Micro-ROS Agent)
Multi-cloud architecture experience (AWS + GCP)
