The
Business Development Executive is responsible for developing new business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics sector, with a focus on JTT's core vertical markets: toys & games, electronics, and garments/footwear. This is a ground-floor role in a startup environment - the first dedicated sales hire in Ho Chi Minh City, working independently to build the client base from scratch with support from Shenzhen HQ operations and ECOM team. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding the customer base, and promoting the company's ocean/air freight, warehousing, trucking and customs clearance services.
1. Business Development & Sales Growth
• Identify and pursue new sales leads in target verticals: toy manufacturers, electronics exporters, and garments/footwear producers in HCMC and surrounding industrial zones.
• Present and negotiate freight solutions (FCL/LCL, air cargo, cross-border logistics) tailored to each vertical's specific needs.
• Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets for revenue and profit margins.
• Work independently to develop new business from scratch, with support from Shenzhen HQ operations and ECOM team for overseas agent coordination.
• Coordinate with overseas offices and agents to close new businesses, leveraging JTT's existing global network.
2. Account Management
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts through regular follow-ups.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with key accounts.
• Handle contract renewals and negotiate rate agreements.
• Identify new service opportunities within existing accounts.
3. Sales Process Management
• Prepare and present competitive quotations for ocean/air freight services.
• Coordinate with operations team to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Assist with credit applications and payment term negotiations.
4. Market Intelligence & Strategy
• Monitor competitor pricing and service offerings in Vietnam.
• Provide feedback on market trends (e.g. tariff changes, shipping route shifts).
5. Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare sales contracts, quotations, and SOPs for clients.
• Update CRM systems with client interactions and sales pipelines.
• Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts.
Good communication skills in English and Vietnamese; Chinese speakers are preferred.
Bachelor's Degree or above.
3+ years of experience in freight forwarding/logistics sales with a proven customer portfolio, preferably in toys, electronics, or garments verticals.
Good understanding of freight forwarding & logistics industry, including FCL/LCL, air freight, and customs clearance processes.
Highly self-driven with a strong network in the local market; comfortable working independently in a startup environment with high autonomy. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build the business from scratch.
