Overview
We are looking for a
Business Development Specialist / Product Application Specialist to join our sales team. This role is designed for a scientifically inclined professional who is eager to bridge the gap between customer needs and FOSS's advanced NIR, FT-IR, Mycotoxin, and analytical solutions. You'll play a crucial role in supporting the sales team, driving application discussions, developing calibrations, and demonstrating the value of our technologies-all while contributing to business growth with a modest sales target.
Key Responsibilities
• Pre-sales Application Support
o Conduct technical discussions with prospects and customers to understand their process challenges.
o Recommend relevant FOSS solutions based on application needs in Milk, Edible Oil, Feed, Food Processing, and allied industries.
o Support product demonstrations, sample testing, and trials with strong application insights.
• Calibration & Application Development
o Assist in the development and optimization of NIR calibrations based on customer samples.
o Coordinate with global application teams and service specialists to deliver robust calibrations.
o Analyse and interpret data for presenting scientifically sound recommendations.
• Customer Engagement & Business Development
o Support the sales team in key account development by driving technical credibility and long-term solution building.
o Participate in technical seminars, webinars, and customer visits as an application expert.
o Own relationships with technical teams of the customer (QA/QC/R&D/PRODUCTION)
• Sales Contribution
o Collaborate with
Sales Managers to build proposals and ensure alignment between customer requirements and FOSS offerings.
o Contribute to lead conversion by addressing objections, performing technical ROI justifications, and showcasing analytical benefits.
o Achieve an assigned sales contribution target, focused on application-led conversion support.
