Chief Accountant (Logistics Industry)

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled Chief Accountant to join our logistics company in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai. This role is for a proactive professional who will act as a strategic partner to the General Director, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Financial Controller in Singapore. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in logistics operations (warehousing, freight forwarding, import/export) and play a key role in monthly accounts closing, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the assignment of the General Director (Vietnam), this position will be fully responsible for one of the following functional duties:
- Act as a business partner to the General Director, providing financial insights and operational support.
- Oversee monthly accounts closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and submit financial statements, cash flow forecasts, HR reports, annual budgets, and other ad hoc reports as required.
- Coordinate with payroll agents on payroll matters.
- Liaise with external auditors during statutory audits and with tax authorities or regulators as needed.
- Monitor and analyze operational costs, identifying efficiency and improvement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with VAS, company policies, and group-level requirements.
- Support the implementation of financial controls and process improvements.
- Provide forecasts and contribute to strategic planning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of logistics operations to reflect business activities accurately.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller (Singapore) on group reporting, compliance, and budgeting.
- Participate in cross-border projects and audits assigned by the Financial Controller.
Reporting Structure:
- Solid Line: General Director (Vietnam) - responsible for day-to-day management, performance reviews, and local operational support (e.g., assisting in the preparation of client quotations, drafting service contracts, etc.).
- Dotted Line: Financial Controller (Singapore) - responsible for group-level financial reporting, compliance, and cross-border initiatives.
