About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting operations and ensure financial compliance in a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working for a Logistics/Freight Forwarding company and possess strong knowledge of accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all accounting operations, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and Tax.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, banks, and government agencies.
Review and improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes.
Supervise and develop the accounting team.
Support management with financial insights and strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Valid Chief Accountant Certificate is preferred.
Mandatory experience working in a Logistics/Freight Forwarding company.
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a Chief Accountant position.
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial reporting.
Experience with accounting software.
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multinational or international logistics companies.
Familiarity with freight forwarding operations (Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Customs Brokerage, Contract Logistics).
Experience in process improvement and internal control.
