Candidates with Senior Accounting or General Accounting experience who hold a Chief Accountant Certificate will be preferred.
Job Purpose: The Chief Accountant reports to the Plant Controller and is responsible for planning and coordinating multi-site plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with corporate policies and practices. The Chief Accountant will provide financial direction to the plant and provide recommendations to improve site performance. This role is responsible for internal controls within the plants, month-end close, supporting the management team with information and analytics on plant costs, inventory management, and continuous improvement opportunities. Key areas of responsibility will include spend analysis, material & labor variance analysis, forecasting, KPI (key performance indicators) management and reporting, asset safeguarding, and evaluating/tracking cost out opportunities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Reporting
Own the monthly accounting close: journal entries, accruals, prepaids and balance-sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS).
Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts; ensure expenses are coded correctly per company standards.
Tax & Statutory Compliance
Prepare and file all statutory returns on time (VAT, CIT, PIT, FCT) and other regulatory filings; keep supporting documents.
Act as the plant's point of contact for tax authorities and routine financial/tax questions in Vietnam.
Prepare the annual statutory financial statements (BCTC).
Inventory & Product Costing
Maintain inventory accounting and product cost (COGS) per VAS; record production, receipts, transfers and adjustments accurately and on time.
Organize and review periodic stock-takes; document results and follow up on variances.
AP / AR & Cash : Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash/bank; ensure timely, accurate recording and reconciliation.
Internal Controls & Audit
Apply plant internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity; escalate risks to the Director and Plant Controller.
Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and approval controls, including independent review and authorization for transactions initiated or approved at the Director level.
Support internal and external audits according to the PBC list.
Support & Supervision
Support the Vietnam President, Director, Planning, Sourcing and Procurement and Vietnam Operations team in all their financial reporting and analysis needs.
Supervise, guide and develop the accounting staff.
Other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Vietnam Chief Accountant Certificate.
Experience
At least 5-10 years' experience in a similar position
Strong cost accounting and inventory control experience within a manufacturing environment.
Solid working knowledge of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) and current tax regulations.
Hands-on with month-end close, tax filing and inventory/cost accounting.
Knowledge of US GAAP preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Comfortable walking the manufacturing floor daily and participating in plant operational meetings.
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
Strong knowledge of Vietnam Accounting Standards
Proficient in Vietnamese and English
Demonstrated expertise in MS Office, advanced knowledge in Excel
Good planning and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business.
Ability to effectively communicate with management, public groups, peers, and staff.
Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced proficiency in maintaining account reconciliations, general ledgers, and journal entries
Working Conditions: From Monday - Friday
Environment
Position is located in an office setting at Long An Province, Vietnam plant
Travel to the United States may be requested in limited instances.
Essential physical requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, or standing & walking in a factory and warehouse setting as needed.
Must be able to lift 7kg at times.
Education
Bachelor's degree in accounting
