Position Summary
The CNC Production Manager oversees all CNC machining operations to ensure on-time, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This role manages machine utilization, workflow, personnel, and continuous improvement initiatives to support customer satisfaction and ISO 9001 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
• Plan, schedule, and oversee daily CNC production across all machines to meet customer delivery targets.
• Balance workloads and prioritize jobs based on capacity, material availability, and deadlines.
• Monitor machine performance, tool life, and cycle times to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with planning,
purchasing, and quality to ensure smooth material flow and WIP tracking.
• Maintain production metrics (OEE, scrap rate, throughput, downtime) and lead improvement initiatives.
Team Leadership
• Supervise and develop CNC operators, setup technicians, and production staff.
• Conduct daily production meetings and assign priorities to shift teams.
• Train staff on process control, safety, and quality standards.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure all machining processes meet drawing specifications and ISO 9001 standards.
• Support in-process inspections and corrective actions for nonconformities.
• Work closely with the Quality Department to implement SPC, process audits, and root cause analysis.
Process & Continuous Improvement
• Analyze bottlenecks and implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and SMED principles.
• Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions, fixture design, and CNC programming improvements.
• Optimize tool selection, feeds/speeds, and machining strategies for cost and time efficiency.
• Support digitization and system improvements (e.g., Excel-based tracking, QR scanning, ERP-lite initiatives).
Maintenance & Safety
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all CNC machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment compliant with safety standards.
