Job Purpose The Core System Business Analyst Lead owns business analysis and functional leadership for the company's core policy administration platform. The role partners with business, IT, vendors, risk, compliance, and regional/global teams to define requirements, assess impacts, support delivery, resolve production issues, and ensure core system changes are delivered with quality, control, stability, and business value.
Responsibilities And Accountabilities
Lead business analysis for core system projects, enhancements, regulatory changes, production fixes, and modernization initiatives.
Work with business stakeholders to define requirements, business rules, process flows, data needs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and operational impacts.
Act as functional SME for core insurance processes including product setup, new business, underwriting, policy servicing, billing, collection, claims, reporting, interfaces, and batch operations.
Assess solution options, risks, dependencies, cost, timeline, regulatory impact, security, data privacy, and operational control requirements.
Facilitate workshops, impact assessments, fit-gap reviews, requirement walkthroughs, and decision discussions across business, IT, vendor, risk, compliance, and operations teams.
Review functional specifications, configuration design, interface design, data mapping, test scope, release readiness, and post-go-live validation.
Support SIT, UAT, defect triage, business sign-off, deployment preparation, cutover readiness, and production stabilization.
Lead analysis for production incidents, urgent fixes, service requests, and problem management, including impact assessment, workaround, root cause support, and permanent fix validation.
Maintain clear, traceable, and audit-ready BA documentation in line with SDLC, change management, information security, data privacy, risk, and compliance requirements.
Coach internal and vendor BAs, review deliverables, improve BA standards, and maintain core system knowledge repositories.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or related discipline.
Minimum 7 years of BA, system analysis, product ownership, or technology delivery experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead BA role.
Strong experience with life insurance core policy administration systems and end-to-end insurance business processes.
Good knowledge of SDLC, Agile or hybrid delivery, requirement traceability, change control, release readiness, and production support.
Experience with enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, data mapping, reporting, and legacy/core platforms such as IBM i/AS400, Life/Asia, SMART/400, OnePAS, or equivalent is preferred.
Understanding of security, data privacy, operational risk, technology controls, audit evidence, and compliance requirements in financial services.
Proficiency with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, or equivalent tools.
CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum, LOMA, or Agile certification is an advantage.
