The Fruit
Republic (TFR) is the only fruit company in Vietnam which is certified according to the following standards: GlobalGAP, LEAF, GRASP, SMETA, BRC, and FSSC 22000 and supplies the largest supermarket chains worldwide and in Vietnam.
For over 16 years, the company has ensured that smallholder farmers remain at the heart of global fruit value chains. Through a strong extension and quality assurance team, they support hundreds of smallholders to meet world-class food safety and quality requirements. TFR has a multinational team of over 400 dedicated staff, including Vietnamese, South African, Dutch, and Filipino professionals, committed to delivering exceptional fruits worldwide.
TFR has their own packhouses, distribution centers in both Vietnam and the Netherlands, three citrus training and R&D farms and their own fruit tree nursery.
As TFR continues their ambitious growth, we are seeking an exceptional leader to guide The Fruit Republic into its next phase of development and strengthen our position as Vietnam's leading fruit company
Purpose of the role The experienced, entrepreneurial and inspiring Country Director Vietnam will lead their operations in Vietnam. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic executive who combines strategic vision with operational excellence and a passion for sustainable agriculture.
The Country Director will be responsible for leading all business activities in Vietnam, overseeing a team of more than 400 employees and driving profitable growth across sourcing, production, packaging, quality assurance, logistics, sales and finance.
Reporting to the Group CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team in Vietnam, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Vietnam's most innovative fruit company.
Key responsibilities:
Team leadership and People Development
Lead, coach and inspire a multicultural management team
Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and innovation.
Develop future leaders within the organization.
Promote The Fruit Republic's values and mission throughout the company.
Strategy, Growth & Investment
Expands TFR's smallholder development program SUCCEEDS: helping smallholders to enlarge their farms, investing in water harvesting reservoirs and drip irrigation, expand the number of farmers in new agro-ecologocal zones, expand the nursery and expand the sourcing team
Initiates and leads investment projects
Maintains and deepens relationships with suppliers, commercial partners and customers in Vietnam
Business performance
Deliver annual revenue, profitability and cash flow targets.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial performance.
Monitor and optimize business processes to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
Ensure effective risk management and corporate governance practices.
Operational management
Provide leadership to all departments, including nursery, farming, sourcing, quality assurance, packaging, maintenance, sales, finance, admin and HR.
Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality fruit products that meet customer expectations.
Oversee food safety, certification and compliance programs.
Drive continuous improvement across the entire value chain.
External Relations
Strengthen relationships with growers, customers, government agencies, and business partners.
Represent The Fruit Republic at industry events, conferences and stakeholder meetings.

The ideal candidate
You are a proven
business leader with a strong commercial mindset, a passion for sustainable tropical agriculture, smallholder farming and experience managing complex operations in emerging markets. You thrive in entrepreneurial environments and enjoy building organizations that combine commercial success with meaningful social impact.
Qualifications and skills
University degree (MSc/MBA) in preferably in agri-business, business administration or sustainable business
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in agriculture, fresh produce, food, agribusiness or related sectors.
Demonstrated international experience, preferably in Asia or other emerging markets
Proven track record of leading medium to large operational teams (200+ employees)
Strong background in P&L management, value chain optimisation and quality management
Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Vietnamese is a clear advantage
Willing and able to live and work full-time in Vietnam on a long-term basis
