Job Description
Our client is a foreign-invested company, now looking for a Commercial Manager (Ocean Freight, $3500, ID21591):
Develop and grow the Ocean Freight business, including key accounts, new customers and strategic business opportunities.
Develop and optimize Ocean Freight products, trade lanes, routing, hub solutions and pricing.
Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, carriers, agents and business partners.
Lead carrier negotiation, procurement and pricing to ensure competitive and profitable solutions.
Support major tenders, key accounts and complex business opportunities; coordinate with internal and overseas teams when required.
Identify market opportunities and develop solutions for key verticals such as Foodstuff, Reefer/Temperature Controlled, Fashion & Lifestyle and Pharma.
Work closely with Sales, Operations and Product teams to ensure effective implementation and service delivery.
Monitor business performance, quotation success, profitability, customer retention and overall commercial results.
Provide market intelligence and recommend new opportunities to support sustainable business growth.
Requirement
Bachelor's degree or above.
10+ years of experience in Ocean Freight/Freight Forwarding, with strong exposure to commercial/business development activities.
Proven experience in Ocean Freight business development, product development, trade lane, pricing or procurement.
Strong network and working relationships with shipping lines/carriers.
Experience managing key accounts and developing business with large/MNC customers is preferred.
Good understanding of Ocean Freight operations, routing, FCL/LCL and market dynamics.
Strong commercial, negotiation, communication and networking skills.
Good English communication skills.
Strong ownership, business mindset and ability to work independently.
Willingness to travel when required.
