Overview (Objective of the Position)
The Demand & Supply Planning Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to optimize inventory and maximize service levels. He/she requires an experienced professional with a track record of success in demand planning, supply chain planning, inventory management, and logistics. This position will have strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills and will be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The Demand Supply Planning Manager should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Description of Key Responsibilities:
Demand Planning
• Develop sales forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for sales forecast & demand supply planning regions and nationwide.
• Review historical sales trends, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
• Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing activities assumptions.
• Interact with sales, marketing, and Product management to understand demand forecast drivers.
• Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, stock item, C-item, new products, and product phase-outs.
• Manage, control and regularly report stock availability and stock turn, forecast accuracy.
• Recommends and defines improvements to DRP tool.
• Run demand planning portion of monthly S&OP process by working with internal stakeholders (MKT, S&CM, Sales, Finance) to gather and justify all relating building blocks in monthly demand plan, ensuring the demand forecast is aligned and supports reaching the company's sales objectives.
• Involve in promotion planning, Launch/Relaunch planning process and customer planning process.
• Provide analysis and challenges against demand assumptions to ensure the realism and reliability of demand forecast.
• Identify risks and opportunities in highlighting and driving effective decision making for gap closing action plan in short and long- term horizon.
• Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings (pre-demand, demand review, executive S&OP meeting).
• Ensure on-time in-full S&OP submission to Operations Director.
• Lead, coach, and develop demand planning team (including hiring, training and goal setting)
Supply Planning:
• Manage the inventory status at each node of the supply chain, build the replenishment model based on the demand forecast and inventory policy to decide the stock move or PO quality to offer the optimal stock level and
purchasing cost (container/pallet utilization as an example).
• Develop the understanding of supplier lead time and capacity/throughput and how fast they can react with change in demand. Create supply scenarios to prepare reaction plan for each of the demand/supply variation occurs.
• Build monitoring mechanism to tracking actual outcome and demand insights from other departments. Lead solutions findings and execution of demand and supply imbalances.
• Make sure the goods to be at WH as demand or soonest with suitable cost.
Corporate Compliance
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
• Be the representative for Hafele for contacts of suppliers. Be professional in Hafele code of conduct and live on Hafele values (follow the guidelines from any Hafele policy/manual/handbook/book...).
• Teamwork and support others where needed. Do everything to enhance and to protect Häfele as a company and brand and don't do anything that can cause disadvantage or damage Häfele as a company or brand.
