Job Overview The Director of Compliance will lead the organization's Compliance & Regulatory Governance function, ensuring that business activities, products, and operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
The role will act as a strategic advisor to senior management and partner with Legal, Risk, Product, Audit, and Business teams to identify and mitigate compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities
1. Compliance Strategy & Governance
Develop and lead the organization's compliance strategy, governance framework, and compliance programs, aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Establish, standardize, and continuously improve compliance policies, procedures, standards, and control frameworks.
Build and develop the Compliance function, including organizational structure, processes, capabilities, and reporting mechanisms.
Act as a strategic advisor to senior management on regulatory risks, compliance risks, and the business impact of regulatory changes.
2. Regulatory Compliance
Monitor, interpret, and assess regulatory requirements related to Fintech, Payment, Digital Banking, E-wallet, and digital financial services.
Assess the compliance of products, services, and business activities and develop remediation plans for identified compliance gaps.
Lead or coordinate regulatory compliance assessments, compliance monitoring, and compliance testing.
Translate regulatory requirements into practical policies, procedures, and controls across the organization.
3. Product & Business Compliance
Engage early in the product development lifecycle to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are embedded into product design.
Advise Product and Business teams on regulatory and compliance matters related to Payment, Wallet, Digital Banking, Merchant, Customer, Transaction, and Data activities.
Assess compliance risks associated with new products, business models, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
Promote and implement a Compliance-by-Design approach across the product lifecycle.
4. AML / KYC / Financial Crime Compliance
Oversee the compliance framework related to AML/CFT, KYC/KYB, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, and Financial Crime, in line with the organization's regulatory obligations.
Work closely with Risk, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to ensure relevant compliance controls are effectively implemented and operated.
Monitor and address compliance issues, suspicious activities, and regulatory reporting requirements.
5. Compliance Risk & Internal Control
Develop and maintain a Compliance Risk Assessment framework to identify key compliance risks and define appropriate control measures.
Partner with Risk, Internal Audit, and relevant business functions to assess the effectiveness of compliance controls.
Monitor remediation activities and ensure identified compliance issues and gaps are addressed within agreed timelines.
Promote a strong compliance-by-default culture across the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Law, Finance & Banking, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in Banking, Fintech, Payment, E-wallet, Digital Banking, or Financial Services.
At least 5 years in a senior Compliance / Regulatory Compliance / Risk & Compliance / Financial Crime Compliance leadership role.
Strong knowledge of banking, payment, e-wallet, AML/KYC, and financial services regulations.
Proven experience building or improving Compliance Frameworks, Policies, Processes, and Internal Controls.
Experience working with senior management and regulatory authorities.
Strong strategic thinking, risk assessment, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred
Experience in Fintech, E-wallet, Payment Gateway, or Digital Banking.
Experience with Big Four / Financial Services Advisory.
Relevant Compliance, AML, Risk, or Regulatory certifications.
Experience building or scaling a Compliance function in a fast-growing organization.
