Overview:
The Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for developing and executing the hotel's sales, marketing, and communication strategies. This individual will lead a dynamic team to drive revenue growth, strengthen brand positioning, and establish the hotel as a market leader in the competitive 5-star city hotel segment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing plans aligned with the hotel's business goals.
Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to drive targeted strategies.
Set annual budgets, forecasts, and performance goals for the Sales and Marketing department.
2. Revenue Generation:
Oversee all revenue-generating activities, including corporate, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions), leisure, and online sales.
Drive room, F&B, and event space revenue through effective pricing strategies and distribution channel management.
Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to optimize yield and maximize profitability.
3. Brand Positioning and Marketing:
Develop and maintain a strong brand presence through
digital marketing, PR campaigns, and partnerships.
Oversee the creation of compelling content for online and offline channels, including social media, website, and promotional materials.
Ensure all marketing initiatives reflect the hotel's brand values and luxury positioning.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the Sales and Marketing team to achieve departmental and individual goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Conduct regular performance reviews and identify professional development opportunities for team members.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with the General Manager, Operations, and other departments to ensure alignment on guest experience and service delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, travel agencies, corporate clients, and media partners.
Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
6. Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies.
Provide regular updates on market performance, trends, and departmental KPIs to senior leadership.
Adjust strategies as needed to ensure revenue and brand goals are met.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales and marketing within the hospitality industry, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of driving revenue growth and market share in a luxury hotel environment.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of digital marketing strategies, distribution channels, and analytics tools.
Proficiency in CRM systems and hotel property management systems
