Engineering Manager SRE/DevOps

We're looking for a Manager Engineer who practices the culture of SRE/DevOps and understands how systems and infrastructure in the cloud works; alongside a deep understanding of how to build, test and deploy applications in a safe, secure and guard railed mechanism using standardised consistent supply chain process that aligns with CICD.

You will collaborate & drive innovative solutions, provide strategic direction and thought leadership on new and emerging technologies. With a focus on building solutions, maximising use of emerging technologies that will enable NAB to transform our current technology & delivery to our customers ensuring new technologies get traction quickly.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. The DevOps Service Reliability Manager Engineer will lead a specialist team working across DevOps practises, Operations Management and Development of production systems and deployment to production and non-production environments in cloud and on-premise
2. The DevOps Service Reliability Engineer Manager will be focused on running better production systems by defining engineering approaches that deliver best practice
3. Work with incident management to streamline & improve incident triage process and implement SRE best practises to GOC.
4. Work with service delivery to understand what's blocking improvement and stability to resolve problem records swiftly.
5. Challenge and uplift cultural thinking and propagate change in the PB&D Domain and develop champions within Services.
6. Define DevOps & SRE principle's for developer engineers, improve hiring requirements and set up multi-sprint rotations with focus on resilience of the platform.
7. Guide Infrastructure capacity & planning management using system metrics to ensure scalability of services to develop dashboards.
8. Implement strategies to progressively reduce functional and non-functional defects within the production environments through use of production monitoring tools
9. Lead an agile delivery scrum team to deliver on engineering standards, sprint backlogs and plans, engineers' responsibilities and performance management, code quality, adherence to development guardrails, testing.
10. Responsible for motivating and engaging your teammates, working together to build a high performing team. Ensuring that all performance and career-based activities, conversations and artefacts are prepared together with the individuals, such as; Development Plan and Performance Plan.
11. Responsible for facilitating interviewing new team members including on boarding.

Must have:

1. 10+ years of experience, especially leading a SRE/DevOps team
2. Proven experience in successfully delivering several major business solutions into production/implementation using Agile scrum methodology and project management skills.
3. Demonstrated experience in identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new and emerging technologies.
4. Expert skills and considerable experience in one or more of the major programming languages, and in the evaluation of infrastructure and software options.
5. Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows).
6. Strong analytical and reasoning skills with an ability to visualise processes and outcomes.
7. Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
8. Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. AppDyanmics, Splunk) and automated testing frameworks
9. In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
10. Experience in cloud based solutions and DevOps practices
11. Cloud (AWS & Azure) accreditations
