The Data Governance Expert is responsible for implementing initiatives to enhance data quality and oversee the protection of information assets and sensitive data. This role serves as a key point of contact for data quality governance and data protection matters, ensuring the required consistency, quality, and protection of data to support overall business needs.
Key Responsibilities1. Research & Capability Development
Coach and train team members on the required capabilities, methodologies, and techniques to effectively deliver planned and ongoing projects.
Research and develop new approaches, methodologies, and practices to improve the quality and effectiveness of the team's work as well as that of relevant departments.
Data Management Strategy
Participate in developing the enterprise data management strategy to ensure appropriate levels of data consistency, quality, and protection in support of overall business objectives.
Contribute to the development of the Data Governance implementation roadmap, including strategic priorities for building information-driven capabilities across the organization.
Data Governance Framework
Lead and coordinate the implementation of the Data Governance framework, with a strong focus on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data.
Support the development and enhancement of organizational policies, standards, governance principles, governance metrics, processes, data controls, and relevant tools.
Data Governance Roles & Accountability
Define and establish roles and responsibilities related to Data Governance.
Ensure clear ownership and accountability for the management and protection of the company's critical information assets.
Enterprise Information Landscape
Develop and maintain the enterprise information landscape, including the identification of authoritative data sources, system ownership, and accountability across information systems.
Data Quality & Data Protection Standards
Contribute to the development and coordinate the implementation of enterprise-wide data quality standards, data protection standards, and related requirements.
Promote consistent adoption of data governance and data protection practices across the organization.
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by authorized management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, Management Information Systems (MIS), or related disciplines. A Master's degree is preferred.
Minimum
7 years of relevant experience
, including at least
3 years in a large-scale service organization
handling high-volume or complex data environments, or experience in project management and project oversight.
Vietnamese only, no expats
Strong knowledge of:
Data quality management and data protection practices.
Data Governance principles and operating models.
Business and technology issues related to enterprise information asset management.
Data protection approaches, controls, and governance practices.
Regulatory requirements related to data management and data protection.
Experience with or understanding of banking regulations, operational policies, and business processes is highly preferred.
Strong capabilities in: Change Management, Self-learning and continuous professional development, Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management, Analytical thinking and structured problem-solving.
