Fabric & Trims Purchasing Merchandiser

Lucy in the Sky is a US fashion brand specializing in women's party dresses and occasionwear. Our Vietnam operation includes a product development studio in Da Nang and production partners in Ho Chi Minh City.
We develop new styles frequently and work with short production lead times. We are looking for an experienced Fabric & Trims Purchasing Merchandiser to manage weekly material purchasing and ensure our production partners receive everything needed on time.
THE ROLE
Based in Da Nang, you will coordinate fabric and trim purchasing across multiple styles and production orders. You will work closely with our development and production teams, reporting to our production supervisor.
This is a hands-on role requiring accurate planning, daily supplier follow-up and the ability to resolve material issues before they affect production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan weekly fabric and trim purchases according to approved styles, production quantities and deadlines.
Check purchasing quantities against approved bills of materials, production marker consumption, agreed allowances and available stock.
Source fabrics and trims, compare quotations and negotiate prices, minimum order quantities, payment terms and delivery dates.
Place approved orders for fabrics, linings, zippers, elastic, labels, packaging and other production materials.
Ensure all purchases match approved specifications, colours and quality requirements.
Follow up with suppliers daily to keep deliveries on schedule.
Maintain an accurate tracker showing quantities ordered, payments, expected delivery dates, materials received and outstanding items by style.
Coordinate deliveries to factories and confirm quantities and condition upon receipt.
Identify shortages, quality problems and delivery risks early, propose solutions and follow through until resolved.
Track remaining materials and arrange their use in subsequent orders where appropriate.
Collect and check supplier invoices, packing lists and supporting documents for local purchases and fabric imports.
Provide clear progress updates in English and flag issues requiring management decisions.
