Job purpose:
This role ensures that follows the direction of manager to IFRS17 implementation on Finance aspect of the Sun Life Vietnam business both to the Regional Office (RO) and to the local senior management team including the development of detailed analyses. This position assists the team lead of the IFRS 17 project in the implementation of the new insurance accounting standard for the Sun Life Vietnam. This role requires good communication and organization skills, time-management skills and demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
Major accountabilities:
• Work closely with the technical workstreams to ensure the solution meets the business requirements. This will involve:
o Reviewing and testing the data and reporting from source systems (Actuarial, policy & administration, expense and finance ledgers) to ensure that the correct data can be sourced to drive the accounting and reporting requirements.
o Modelling business requirements and use cases as a basis for testing the configuration and outputs of the system (Hyperion, Frontier)
o Working with the stakeholders to ensure that the accounting & reporting solution is correctly configured and designed in readiness for validation and testing.
• Involve in IFRS 17 assessment, working closely with the business functions to support and develop their understanding of the gaps raised from assessment result, including:
o Compare the impact of different implementation choices.
o Highlight areas of impacts to prioritize efforts.
• Provide assistance in the development on the product (GMM, VFA measurement models), including:
o the underlying transactions and data requirements,
o how they drive the associated accounting rule
o how to design and implement into the central solution
o how to design and configure required reporting within the system
o assistance in the knowledge transfer of the product to users across the business
• Contribute to reviewing the new work process and controls (including documentation of SOPs for IT, finance and actuarial) with the new systems and workflow.
• Contribute to managing of various workstreams, bringing together cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end delivery of key milestones, including:
o Ensure that deliverables are in accordance with relevant policies and procedures and project management governance requirements are followed and completed.
o Manages the risks and development of mitigation plans and ensures critical issues related to project are escalated to the Project Sponsor
• Interpret data related to the business; interpreting the meaning of information for others - translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used.

• Demonstrated good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proactively engage and work with related key business partners including but not limited to the RO IFRS17 team and Corporate IFRS17 team.
• University graduate in Accounting, Finance major (CPA/ACCA qualification as plus)
• A minimum of 5 years' business experience preferably in accounting and financial within the financial services industry.
• Good working knowledge of accounting and financial aspects.
• Previous experience working closely with Actuarial and IT department.
