About the role
You will join the Manufacturing Test Engineering (MTE) Software team as a Full Stack Engineer, responsible for developing web UI applications that provide intuitive interfaces for interacting with the test environment. This role involves creating tools that connect to test systems and enable users to access detailed test information to support engineering teams in debugging and analysis. Additionally, you will develop software solutions that allow users to interact with test automation systems, facilitating control over test flow and execution. Your work will be key to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing process. The MTE Software Team at Ampere Computing is a group of dedicated professionals committed to delivering high-quality products while collaborating closely with manufacturing and engineering teams in a dynamic and engaging environment.
What you'll achieve
Build Engineering Web Applications
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack web applications for Manufacturing Test and engineering workflows.
- Build intuitive web interfaces for searching, filtering, browsing, comparing, and drilling down into test results.
- Develop data-intensive UI experiences that remain responsive when working with large datasets, complex filtering, and wide tables.
- Deliver practical features such as configurable columns, saved views, pagination, virtual scrolling, exports, query history, and detailed result views.
- Work closely with engineering stakeholders to understand pain points and turn them into usable tools.
Develop Full-Stack Solutions
- Build and maintain frontend applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
- Develop or contribute to backend services and REST APIs that connect web applications with test systems, databases, internal services, and data platforms.
- Design efficient frontend-backend contracts to ensure the UI retrieves only the data it needs.
- Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and support data-query performance improvements when needed.
- Handle real-world integration concerns, including slow queries, timeouts, retries, partial responses, data consistency, and error recovery.
Ensure Quality, Performance, and Reliability
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews.
- Improve frontend performance, API response time, usability, and application reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues across the UI, APIs, data layer, and system integrations.
- Contribute to unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and deployment practices.
- Apply secure engineering practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, and secrets management.
Collaborate and Grow the Team
- Work directly with stakeholders, product owners, QA, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and define delivery scope.
- Break down ambiguous requirements into user flows, technical tasks, acceptance criteria, and phased delivery plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and interns through task breakdown, pairing, code review, and technical guidance.
- Contribute to reusable UI components, coding standards, API conventions, documentation, and engineering practices that can support future applications in the broader engineering ecosystem.
About you
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of professional experience in full stack development.
- Strong proficiency in front-end technologies such as:
- JavaScript/TypeScript
- React, Angular, or [protected info]
- HTML5, CSS3, SASS/LESS
- Extensive experience with back-end technologies such as:
- [protected info], [protected info], or similar frameworks
- Java, Python, Ruby, or .NET (depending on your stack)
- RESTful API design and development
- Experience with databases:
- SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Proven leadership or mentorship experience.
- Preferred qualifications
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of GraphQL.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Selenium).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Contributions to open-source projects or community involvement.
