About the Role
Our client from the UK is looking for a Full Stack Developer to build, maintain, and improve e-commerce websites for our clients. You will work across both front-end and back-end development, supporting the delivery of fast, reliable, and conversion-focused online stores. The role is suitable for a developer who is comfortable working independently, solving technical issues, and collaborating with designers and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain responsive e-commerce websites and web applications.
Build and customise WordPress and WooCommerce websites.
Develop reusable front-end components using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks.
Customise themes, templates, plugins, and e-commerce functionality based on project requirements.
Develop and maintain back-end functionality, databases, APIs, and integrations.
Integrate payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM systems, marketing tools, and third-party APIs.
Troubleshoot website, checkout, plugin, integration, and performance issues.
Improve website speed, security, mobile responsiveness, and overall technical performance.
Convert UI/UX designs into functional and responsive web pages.
Maintain clean, structured, and reusable code.
Conduct testing and debugging before website deployments.
Manage website updates, staging environments, deployments, and version control.
Support ongoing enhancements and technical requirements for existing client websites.
Work closely with designers, marketers, and project teams to deliver projects according to agreed requirements and timelines.
Requirements
3-4 years experience in full stack web development.
Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
Practical experience with WordPress and WooCommerce development.
Experience customising WordPress themes and plugins.
Familiarity with MySQL or similar relational databases.
Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
Understanding of responsive and mobile-first web development.
Familiarity with Git and version control.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently.
Good understanding of website performance, security, and technical SEO fundamentals.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple projects.
Preferred Skills
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, [protected info], or [protected info]

Experience integrating Stripe, PayPal, or other online payment systems.
Understanding of e-commerce user journeys, checkout optimisation, and conversion-focused development.
