PURPOSE AND SCOPE : The General Manager (GM) will oversee the daily operations, strategic development, and growth of the freight forwarding business in Cambodia. This role will involve managing operations, sales, finance, customer service, and business development, ensuring the company remains competitive in the logistics and freight forwarding industry while delivering exceptional service to clients. The GM will lead the local team, build strong relationships with partners, and ensure the effective management of resources and compliance with local regulations.
Business Development and Growth:
• Drive business growth through effective sales strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding the customer base.
• Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders (e.g., shipping lines, airlines, suppliers).
• Establish and execute marketing strategies to promote the company's freight forwarding services.
• Evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to ensure the company stays competitive.
Financial Management:
• Oversee the financial performance of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ensure profitability through cost management and pricing strategy optimization.
• Manage cash flow, financial reporting, and ensure compliance with local tax and financial regulations.
Customer Service and Relationship Management:
• Ensure high-quality customer service standards are met, responding to client inquiries and resolving any operational issues.
• Monitor customer satisfaction levels and implement improvements to service delivery.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with key clients to ensure long-term business success.
Operational Management:
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective freight forwarding services.
• Supervise and manage all aspects of logistics, shipping, warehousing, customs clearance, and distribution.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, vendors, and service providers.
• Monitor and improve operational performance, cost control, and service levels.
Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure that the company operates in compliance with all relevant local and international laws and industry standards.
• Identify potential business risks, including legal, financial, and operational risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and manage insurance, licensing, and regulatory requirements related to freight forwarding operations.
Team Leadership and Management:
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing team of operational, sales, and customer service staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and implement training programs for staff development.
• Create a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Business Development and Growth:

Yêu cầu
• Education: Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree or professional certifications in logistics/freight forwarding is a plus
• Local Knowledge: Strong understanding of Cambodia's business environment, customs regulations, and logistics infrastructure.
• Technology: Familiarity with logistics software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in the logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management or leadership role
Skills & Competency
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of freight forwarding operations, shipping, logistics, and customs regulations.
• Strong business acumen, including experience in financial management and budgeting.
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful business strategies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and Khmer (spoken and written). Additional language skills are a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willing to work overtime (out of office hours, weekend, break days) to finish tasks assigned
• Go to business trip as required
