The General Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our 5,000 tonne cold store facility, which operates at temperatures as low as -18°C. This includes managing the reception, storage, tracking, and retrieval of client goods while ensuring they are maintained in excellent condition, building and maintaining strong customer relationships and expanding our client base
Description
Operational Management:
* Oversee day-to-day activities of the cold store, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management.
* Ensure efficient and safe handling of goods, maintaining optimal storage conditions.
* Coordinate with the operations, data, and
customer service managers to streamline processes and achieve operational excellence.
Customer Relations:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure their satisfaction.
* Actively seek new clients in the seafood processing and perishable products industry.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Sales Management:
* Lead the sales efforts to acquire new clients and grow revenue.
* Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate Ca Mau seafood processing market.
* Hire and train a sales team as revenue growth justifies additional staff.
Team Leadership:
* Manage a team of approximately 20 employees, including key managers and operational staff.
* Foster a teamwork culture, with
continuous improvement, and professional development.
Operations Planning:
* Ensure smooth operations during regular hours and manage staffing for off-hour deliveries and pick-ups.
* Maintain a proactive approach to meet client demands and operational challenges.
* Financial Management:
* Exercise financial acumen to manage budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability.
* Monitor financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures.
Reporting and Communication:
* Provide regular reports and updates to the Group CEO and senior management team.
* Act as a liaison between the cold store and the corporate office.
Profile
Qualifications and Skills:
* Essential: Fluency in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written).
* Computer literate with Excel and presentation skills.
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
* Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
* Team building and time management skills.
* Exceptional customer focus and conflict resolution abilities.
* Industry knowledge and a strong network in seafood processing and perishable products.
* Innovative mindset with a knack for risk management.
Education Requirements:
* A bachelor's degree in business administration,
Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred. A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred and may be considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements:
* A minimum of 5 years work of progressive managerial experience in seafood, aquaculture farming, sales, warehouse management, logistics, or related industry.
* Demonstrated success in operations management, client relationship building, and revenue growth.
* Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
* Familiarity with the seafood processing and perishable products is a distinct advantage.
