About the Internship / インターンシップについて
Japan Awaits is building a structured internship program for students interested in gaining practical experience in Japan's inbound tourism industry.
Interns work alongside our main team and contribute to real projects that support the growth of Japan Awaits. Depending on current business needs and individual skills, interns may support projects across Marketing, Product Development, Business Development, and other areas of the company.
The program is designed to provide hands-on experience while giving interns the guidance, training, and direction needed to work effectively in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities / 職務上の責任
Interns may support:
- Marketing projects and initiatives for Japan Awaits.
- Business development activities, including research and travel agency outreach.
- Product development and improvement of Japan travel experiences.
- Research on destinations, travel trends, cultural experiences, and international traveler needs.
- Preparation of marketing, product, and partner-facing materials.
- Research and organization of potential travel agency and business partners.
- Support for ongoing projects across different teams.
- Administrative, research, and documentation tasks related to assigned projects.
- Other projects based on current business needs and the intern's skills and interests.
Requirements / 求める人材
- Currently enrolled at a university or higher education institution.
- Available for a 5-6 month internship.
- Interested in Japan, inbound tourism, travel, hospitality, or related fields.
- Able to work collaboratively with team members from different functions.
- Comfortable receiving guidance, learning new processes, and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work on projects with clear deadlines and deliverables.
- Motivated to gain practical experience in a Japan-based company.

- Strong interest in Japan and international tourism.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organized and attentive to detail.

- Able to follow instructions and work through tasks independently once trained.

Preferred Qualifications / 歓迎条件
- Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, marketing, business development, research, or related projects.
- Interest in Japan and Japanese culture.
- Experience working on university projects, student organizations, or other collaborative projects.
- Experience with research, content creation, marketing, or business-related projects.
- Ability to communicate in Japanese is a plus.
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is a plus.
