The Lab Technician is responsible for developing and testing formulations, providing technical support to Sales, and ensuring timely and accurate handling of product samples and documentation in the Personal & Home Care sector with key responsibilities:
1. Research & Formulation Development
- Research, analyze, and develop prototype formulations based on customer requirements, market insights, and Sales Department requests
- Adjust and localize formulations provided by suppliers' R&D teams to fit the company's product portfolio
- Store, monitor, and evaluate the stability of raw materials and finished products in compliance with relevant standards and regulations
2. Technical Support
- Support
Sales staff in customer-related activities (sample testing, product demonstrations, technical presentations)
- Conduct product testing and evaluations as requested
- Organize internal training sessions on product knowledge and technical skills for Sales team
- Develop, update, and maintain product usage manuals and technical guidelines
- Collect, manage, and update product documentation from suppliers and share with relevant teams
3. Sample & Forecast Management
- Prepare and deliver samples to customers according to project timelines
- Provide product usage forecasts and related reports when required
4. Supplier & Project Coordination
- Collaborate with Supplier Management Department to attend supplier workshops, training sessions, and gather product-related information
- Prepare and submit progress reports for ongoing R&D and customer projects
5. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or related fields
- Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory work, preferably in Personal Care/Home Care industry
- Working experience in multi-industry chemical trading companies, cosmetic chemical manufacturing companies is a plus
- Strong knowledge of formulation techniques, raw materials, and stability testing
- Good communication and presentation skills to support Sales and customer interactions
- Proficiency in MS Office and laboratory documentation
- Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team
- Attention to detail, organization skills, and a proactive working attitude
