Role Description The Manual Tester Trainee is a full-time, on-site role based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This role involves executing test cases, documenting test results, and supporting quality assurance activities for web and software applications under the guidance of senior testers. The trainee will help identify, record, and track defects, verify fixes, and contribute to regression and functional testing to ensure product quality and usability.
Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing requirements and designs for testability, following established test processes and standards, and collaborating closely with developers, product owners, and project managers. The role also includes learning and applying best practices in software testing, maintaining clear documentation, and continuously improving testing skills and domain knowledge.
Qualifications
Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and methodical approach to identifying and documenting defects.
Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance principles; familiarity with functional, regression, and usability testing.
Ability to follow written test cases and procedures, and to create clear, concise test documentation and reports.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Comfort with using standard productivity tools and issue-tracking systems (e.g., spreadsheets, test management or ticketing tools).
Curiosity and willingness to learn new testing techniques, tools, and technologies in an AI and cloud-focused environment.
Relevant education in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience with basic web or mobile application usage and user experience considerations; any exposure to manual testing is an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Ho Chi Minh City, maintain reliability in meeting deadlines, and adapt to dynamic project needs.
