Summary
This role is responsible for supporting Airgain's manufacturing and quality operations across its contract manufacturing partners in Vietnam to ensure consistent product quality, efficient production execution, and successful new product introduction.
The position operates as a hands-on individual contributor, serving as Airgain's primary manufacturing and quality representative within the region. This role drives continuous improvement, process optimization, supplier quality management, and production readiness while ensuring manufacturing partners meet Airgain's quality, delivery, and operational expectations.
This individual works closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and manufacturing partners to improve product quality, enhance manufacturing efficiency, support product launches, and proactively resolve production and supplier-related issues.
Essential Function
Manufacturing Engineering &
Production Support
Provide onsite manufacturing engineering support to Airgain's Vietnam contract manufacturing partners.
Drive process improvements to increase efficiency, yield, throughput, and product quality.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, manufacturing transfers, and production ramp-up efforts.
Develop, review, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and test methods.
Analyze production data to identify opportunities for process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing issues impacting quality, cost, or delivery.
Quality Engineering &
Product Quality
Serve as the primary quality engineering interface between Airgain and Vietnam manufacturing partners.
Support failure analysis, corrective action implementation, and continuous improvement activities.
Drive containment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Monitor and improve manufacturing yield, defect rates, and quality performance metrics.
Ensure adherence to Airgain quality requirements, product specifications, and customer expectations.
Support customer quality inquiries and corrective action responses as required.
Supplier Quality &
Compliance
Conduct supplier quality audits, manufacturing process audits, and quality system assessments.
Support supplier qualification and ongoing supplier performance management activities.
Support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities and qualification requirements where applicable.
Ensure compliance with quality management systems, manufacturing standards, and customer-specific requirements.
Evaluate process changes and support change control activities at manufacturing partners.
Drive resolution of supplier-related quality issues through structured corrective actions.
Operational Excellence &
Cross-Functional Support
Establish strong working relationships with manufacturing partner engineering, quality, and operations teams.
Provide regular reporting on manufacturing performance, quality metrics, risks, and improvement initiatives.
Support cost reduction and continuous improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
Escalate critical manufacturing and quality issues while driving timely resolution.
Partner with Airgain Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful execution of business objectives.
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent discipline. Educational and English-language requirements may be relaxed for candidates with extensive relevant experience and demonstrated capabilities.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, or a combination of both within electronics manufacturing environments.
Must have experience in electronic product manufacturing, PCB assemblies, RF products, or related technologies.
Experience working directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers in a high-volume production environment.
Proven track record in:
Manufacturing process development and continuous improvement
Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
Production quality management and yield improvement
Supplier quality management and audit execution
PPAP, qualification, and manufacturing validation activities
Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, CAPA, FMEA, Control Plans, and SPC preferred.
Ability to effectively influence manufacturing partners and drive accountability without direct authority.
Strong technical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Willingness to work onsite at Vietnam manufacturing facilities and travel between contract manufacturing locations as required.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Proficiency in Microsoft tools required

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
