The School Is Currently Looking To Recruit a
SECONDARY MATHEMATICS TEACHER
As a highly-valued subject for many BIS HCMC students, the large Maths Department at BIS is a vibrant and collaborative team which works to support and challenge all. There is opportunity for a variety of teaching styles, with exploration, enquiry and reflection embedded into the learning of Mathematics.
All students complete our bespoke KS3 programme, followed by IGCSE Maths, with the majority also studying Additional Mathematics. At Key Stage 5, our students study the IB Diploma and can choose from either Approaches and Analysis (AA) or Applications and Interpretations (AI) at Standard or Higher level. All students value mathematical challenge and a large proportion of our IB students opt for one of the higher-level courses.
Mathematics competitions are also highly popular at BIS HCMC, with students competing locally, nationally and internationally in both mathematics and logic events. Students thrive in these competitions in a supportive atmosphere and BIS HCMC awards the Gauss Trophy annually to the top competition mathematician.
Experience teaching Mathematics to Key Stage 5 is essential and IBDP experience is highly desired. This post will include the teaching of IB Mathematics (either AA or AI) to highly motivated students looking to achieve excellent outcomes.

In Secondary, our students continue with the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 in preparation for their IGCSEs and later, the rigorous IB Diploma Programme.
Our 2026 cohort of 130 IBDP graduates achieved an average score of 36.7 points, significantly higher than the global average of 30.9 points, with 28% of our students achieving 40 points or more and 2 students achieving a perfect score of 45. Our students are equally successful at IGCSE. Our 2025 cohort of 128 students achieved 69% of grades at A*/A with 97% of our students achieving A* - C in 5 or more subjects and 39 students achieving A*/A grades across all their subjects.
Beyond academics, we have an exceptional enrichment programme with over 100 Co-Curricular activities and expeditions both in Vietnam and globally that help our students overcome challenges, build confidence, create lifelong memories and change to the communities around them.
